地域貢献ポイント事業

高齢者の積極的な社会参加を図るため、ボランティア活動に対して地域貢献ポイントを付与しています
　区内在住のおおむね60歳以上の方が対象で、事前にボランティアセンターなどで登録が必要です。区が指定する社会福祉施設などでのボランティア活動1回につき1ポイント付与されます。ポイントは区内共通商品券への交換か、区内社会福祉施設への寄付となります。

Shinagawa City now gives “contribution points” to local senior citizens who participate in voluntary activities, aims at promoting positive relationships between elderly residents and local communities.
This points system applies to local residents around 60 years of age and older who have registered as volunteers for the Volunteer Center and other authorised institutions. One point will be given to one voluntary activity at certain facilities such as designated social welfare facilities. You can either exchange your points to gift tokens accepted within Shinagawa City, or you can contribute the points to local social welfare facilities.

お国自慢料理教室が、6月27日の午前10時から午後1時まできゅりあんで行われます。
この料理教室は、外国人と日本人の交流の場です。普段なかなかプライベートでは日本人と接することがない外国人の方も気軽に参加できます。今回はオランダの家庭料理を作ります。
対象は、区内在住か在勤の外国人18人・日本人18人、抽選で、費用は1,000円です。
申込方法は、6月28日必着で、品川区国際友好協会ホームページからか、はがき、ＦＡＸで教室名、住所、氏名、ふりがな、年齢、性別、電話番号、在勤者は勤務先の名称・所在地・電話番号、外国人の方は国籍を同協会へ。

A Dutch home cooking class will be held on June 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at CURIAN Shinagawa Community Hall. 　　This world cooking class programme is a wonderful opportunity to improve your culinary skills while making connections and meeting new faces.  This class seeks to bring together both Japanese and non-Japanese residents and to that end, the class will consist of 18 Japanese residents who will be selected by a drawing, and 18 non-Japanese residents who live or work in Shinagawa City. 

The fee to participate in the class is 1,000 yen and an application is required.  To apply, complete an application form available online at the Shinagawa City International Friendship Association (SIFA)’s website, or send SIFA either a postcard or a fax including the name of the class you would like to apply to, your name with furigana, your home address, age, gender, phone number, name of your office, office address and phone number if you work in Shinagawa City, and finally, your nationality.

Shinagawa City would like to introduce its friendship exchange towns, Yamakita-machi, located in Kanagawa, and Hayakawa-cho in Yamanashi. Both towns have magnificent landscapes that offer wonderful views as the seasons change, and are abundant with a variety of wild vegetables.  Come for a visit, meet the local people, and enjoy the slow flow of countryside time.
 Most accommodations in towns and villages that are part of this friendship exchange accept 10% discount tickets, which are available from the Regional Activities Section at the City Office or at local community centers. In addition, residents who are enrolled in either National Health Insurance or the Medical Care System for Long Life who have no unpaid premiums will be offered a government subsidy in addition to the 10% discount.

Would you like to enjoy camping at one of Japan’s famous summer resorts?  “Reku no Mori” Campsite in Karuizawa will be open from July 18th to August 22nd.
The campsite is only a 30 minute bus ride from Karuizawa Station, and offers a number of services.  You can rent one the campsite tents for ￥1,500 per night.  In addition, sleeping bags, hatchets, and cooking equipment are available free of charge.

To all our listeners out there, let’s try to be “cool” during the hot summer season.  Shinagawa City will launch its own “Cool Biz” campaign, From June 1st to September 30th, which recommends a more casual dress code for work.  The “cool biz” campaign means not wearing ties and jackets during the summer and also recommends conserving energy by adjusting the room temperature for your work or living space to a higher setting, roughly 28 degrees centigrade.
