Minato City can also provide disaster information to your mobile phone or your PC via E-mail. The information you will receive is about earthquakes, the current water level and rainfall.
To register your E-mail address, please follow these steps.
First, send an blank E-mail to kumin@bousai.city.minato.tokyo.jp.
Second, click the URL found in the reply that you will receive, select the language from English or Japanese, and press the enter key.
Finally, enter the information that is requested.
If you have questions, call the Disaster Prevention Subsection of the Disaster Prevention and Life Safety Support Department at 3578-2111 ext. 2541.

港区では、区内在住のひとり親家庭等を対象に、児童扶養手当、ひとり親家庭支援助成、児童育成手当、ひとり親家庭等医療費助成を行っています。
対象児童の年齢：18歳に達した後の3月31日まで
必要書類： 1) 請求者及び児童の戸籍謄本 *外国籍の人は外国人登録証明書及び記載事項証明書 2) 請求者名義の銀行口座番号 3) 2009年1月2日以降港区転入者は所得証明書 4) 健康保険証 5) 印鑑 6）その他受給要件によって書類が必要ですので問い合わせください。

Minato City provides subsidies to single-parent families living in Minato City such as a child-rearing allowance, child support allowance, supporting subsidies for single-parent families and subsidies for medical expenses for single parents.
The subsidies apply to families with children 18 or under, until March 31st after the children’s 18th birthday.
To apply for the subsidies you will be required to submit the following.
First, a copy of the family register of the applicant and children, or if you are non-Japanese, a certificate of foreign registration and a certificate on registered matters are needed.
Second, information about the applicant’s bank account.
Third, a proof of earnings if you have moved to Minato City since January 2nd 2009.
Fourth, your health insurance card.
Fifth, your personal seal or inkan.
Finally, there may be other documents necessary depending on individual circumstances. It is therefore recommended to confirm these details prior to your application.
For inquiries, call the Health and Welfare Subsection of the Residents Support Section in each regional office or the Children’s Benefit Subsection of the Child Affairs Section at 3578－2111 ext. 2430 thru. 2433.

Minato City offers booklets on Choju-Iryo Seido, or the Medical Care System for Senior Citizens 75 and over free of charge in order to raise awareness of the system. The booklets are provided in English and Braille, and are also available on audio tape. Applications are needed for those who are interested.
Residents in Minato City are eligible regardless of age and qualification.
Applications are being accepted until Friday May 29th.
